TIAF announces Islamic Revolution films

The 10th edition of Tehran International Animation Festival has announced the names of 7 films that will be present at the festival’s Islamic Revolution Values section.

5 of the films present in this section will be included in the competition while 2 were submitted to the noncompetitive section.

The films include: ‘Santa’ by Hamid Haghani, ‘Third World War’ by Abdolamir Sabiei, ‘Wagtails’ by Mohammad Kheirandish, ‘Once Upon a Time, Iran vs. America’ by Mostafa Kazemkhani, ‘Satan’s Car’ by Mojtaba Esmaeelzadeh, ‘Once There Was a Dog’ by Mohammad Afsharnejad (noncompetitive) and ‘Divers’ by Rasoul Zarrin (noncompetitive).

Mojtaba Danandeh, Majid Kashani and Saeed Reza Hagh-Zareh will be judging motion graphics works submitted to the festival.

The festival will be held in various cinemas and cultural centers in the capital, Tehran, as well as provincial cinemas.

Held by the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children & Young Adults, many award-winning animations will participate at the event.

The Tehran Animation Festival is a competitive event which takes place biennially. The main goal is to promote animation and broaden cultural interchange.

TIAF is not specified just for children and young adults, but any kind of artistic animated films, including those for children, young adults and adults section, can be sent to the festival.

The 10th Tehran International Animation Festival will be held on March 5-9, 2017.
